The girl felt a sense of relief as soon as she was able to see her beloved best friend, Feather. Every time she caressed Feather’s silky smooth face, fond moments and memories of the past flooded her mind. Her parents, family, friends, feather, everyone she held dear could be seen in front of her eyes like as if they were happening within that moment in time. She found herself standing in front of a medium sized pine table which sat adjacent to the modern marble countertop in the kitchen. Her whole entire family sat at the table eating dinner, filling each other in on how their day went. The pre autumn sun felt warm upon the girl’s skin. It felt good to be right there with her family again. She sat down and tried to speak with her mom and sister, but they did not notice her presence. The girl blinked and found that they were gone.
What the? That felt so real! The sun, the smell of the food, the table, the chair… everything! But… but it wasn’t? Huh… Something ‘clicked’ within herself as soon as she realized that the things she feared losing the most were never truly lost. At that moment, she knew that she made the right decision to pop that bubble. She felt lighter than she did before.
“Even though you can’t interact with your old memories, you can still access them and cherish the meaning of it’s presence” A warm gentle breeze went through the girl’s gorgeous hair and followed the wind in the distance. A new voice? Where was it coming from?
Another jolt of pain shot through her body and ricocheted back from her head to her back then to her feet. She felt her back once again, and those bumps were no longer just bumps with fuzz. They were petite wings that were about the size of the Indigo orb’s wings.
“Now, is this what you meant when you told me ‘you’ll see’?” At this point, the girl was starting to grip onto a sense of understanding. It wasn’t a very strong grip, but it at least gave her the security knowing that this is happening for a reason, regardless if she knew why or not.
“Well, the development of wings takes a good majority of the meaning behind what I told you before.” With that, the orb doubled in size instantly. The wings and halo doubled in size as well. The Indigo orb was now about the size of a basketball.
“Oh my gosh! You’ve gotten bigger! But how?” Feather jumped and let out a small bark.
“We’re in sync my dear girl. When you grow, I grow. I don’t exactly grow like how you do, but nonetheless I still grow.”
“What exactly ARE you spirit orb? Are you an angel? A ghost?”
The spirit orb got very close to the girl’s nose and gently bumped into it. The orb let out a small giggle. “I’m a light being, just like you! We might not look exactly the same, but we both come from the same origin.” The girl scratched her head and thought about the orb’s statement. With the bubble gone, a new horizon made itself clear. A colossal planet came into view. The cosmos made themselves known once again as the light of day started to die. Black, purple, and orange skies dominated the horizon. With the blink of an eye, the world around the girl changed once again.
“Alrighty my dear, let’s keep going.”
