A Mind Worth of a Million Dying Screams

I can sleep, I can’t be, I can’t be left alone with my thoughts.

Over and over my head and muscles roll around with my skin.

Thoughts as gnarled as barbed wire poke through my mind and insides.

Watch this phenomena appear again and again.

Night after night after night after night.

Gardens of beauty bloom from my finger tips with every word I type…

Every word I type.

How can the mind die as hard and painfully as mine did?

How could aesthetic beauty arrive from the origins of morbid thought patterns?

How can divine golden light come from a place which has no life?

How can birth come from a black dismal void?

How did these obscenities come to be?

Were they born within me?

If you say it then it must be so.

If I can manifest forests and gardens abloom from my fingertips…

If infinite life, love, and purity can be born from my darkest thoughts…

If a simple smile can come from extracting an aching thought…

Perhaps it is meant to be.

If it’s meant to be, so let it be.

Comfort in the Panic Room

This is my happy place.

Hell is outside and Heaven is within these walls.

Everything feels safe within my panic room.

Everyone else is damned for sure.

No one can escape the inevitable.

Do you want to know my little secret?

Its the key, the golden ticket, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Silently waiting for it to come brings fear, death, and destruction.

Continue to live this way and you’ll never be at peace.

Only I can save you all, the voices told me so.

Maybe if you lend an ear I can give you my advice I can save you all.

I am the one who can save you all from the Devil himself.

No one knows that I am the chosen one.

God only knows that I can defeat them all.

See, I didn’t know that I was the chosen one until recently.

Only through the voices and visions did I learn the truth.

Only seeing the suffering of others gave me hope and strength.

Now who will you turn to for your freedom?

Wooded Path: Black Kitten Ending

The dull blackness ends with a gentle meow which jolts you awake from your deep slumber.

A pair of large yellow eyes are less than an inch away from your face.

The sight of the eyes creates a sense of relief go down your spine and you take a deep breath.

It’s the new kitten you got with your wife about a month ago to surprise your children who have been asking for a cat for over 3 years.

It was love at first sight when you found her at the local shelter and you decided to pick her up in a flash.

Her name was Misty Mittens.

Your youngest being at 13 years of age called her Misty Mittens for the kitten’s paws were so light and soft to the touch.

Not to mention that you can’t hear her as she walks through the house with her gentle graceful stride.

You gently sit up as to not scare the kitten, gently pick her up, and hold her gently to your chest softly running your fingers along her head and spine.

Her gentle purr brought you back at ease.

You pick her up and gently place her on the floor.

You find that the living room was in a bit of disrepair and mud and blood colored pawprints seemed to cover the carpet and walls.

You become slightly irritated and walk into the kitchen to see any further extent of damage.

You find a dead sparrow, a dead rat, and a dead mouse piled right next to your work shoes.

Misty comes in with a look of guilt with a mix of ‘but I love you dad! I left you a present!’.

How can you stay mad at her?

You reach down to pet her head and she purrs softly with the movement of your hand as it goes along her side.

“Well, it looks like you found the source of all that racket down in the basement and the garage. Nice job girl.”

That still doesn’t explain all of the weird-freaky shit you had experienced.

You walk up to the counter and peered out the window to find that it still seemed a little bit ashy outside, but the clouds of raining ash seemed to clear up.

Most of everything was still green, but a bit grey in color.

“It looks like they finally contained that wildfire huh Misty?”

She meows back at your remark about the fire.

You look to your left to find the bottle of ibuprofen and glass of water you left there earlier…

By your surprise, when you look a bit more closely at the bottle of ibuprofen… you find that instead it’s Vicodin.

Your oldest being 18 just recently had their wisdom teeth pulled out last week and there was some medication leftover for when your second youngest gets hers pulled out.

Your eyes widen when you realize that you took Vicodin for your killer migraine on accident this morning.

“Oh shit! No wonder… it must have been all a weird dream, right?”

Wooded Path: Divine Ending

A sudden blinding flash of light ignites your senses and jolts you awake like the crack of a whip.

Your body tenses then releases from a breath of fresh air that finally escapes from your lungs.

“I can finally breathe again!” You think to yourself.

You sit up finding yourself attached to all kinds of tubes and wires.

Majority of your body is patched up while you wear minor casts on one of your arms and legs.

Suddenly gravity takes hold and causes you to sink into the bed in a ball of ungodly pain.

You cry out as the pain that weighs that of a thousand tons wraps around your body.

You hear voices calling your name.

One, two, three, then four which turns to five and more.

Your vision slowly becomes clearer as you find the most precious people in your life sitting by your side.

Your dearest wife, children, a few co-workers, brothers, and even your boss is here with you.

“Where am I? How did I get here?”

Your wife, with her gentle blue eyes and dirty blonde hair wipes her eyes away and says,”Honey, you’re in the hospital”

You try to sit up slowly to give your wife and children a hug, but a loud pop within the middle of yours spine stops you in your tracks.

You shrivel down in pain.

Your wife and three girls urge you to lay down.

Reluctantly, you oblige and all of them give you a gentle group hug.

Everyone else anxiously stands right by your side with loving and caring dazes.

“What the hell happened to me? Everything hurts. Shit, I feel like I got hit by a monster truck or something. Is that what happened?”

“No-Not quite like that,” On of your brothers said.

“Don’t you worry about a single thing. You survived that accident, that’s all that matters and… just thank god you’re alive!” another one of the brothers exclaimed.

“Now I really still want to know what happened though, where’s the doctor?”

And speak of the devil, a gentleman of tall stature with a shaved head, thin brimmed glasses in a white coat and pants walks in with a clipboard walks right in.

He introduces himself officially and begins to explain the situation.

“You are a very lucky man now, you know that? Now, do you remember anything?”

A few moments later, a brief memory from driving during a mid-day foggy afternoon comes into mind.

“Yeah, I remember that I went out to swing by work to grab a couple of things… after that it’s just all a one big blur.”

“Well, from what your wife told me someone who was possibly drinking and driving hit you head on in an intersection which caused your car to violently swerve and flip over into a nearby ditch.”

You look at the doctor in absolute awe and feel your stomach drop.

Your wife gently holds and grasps your right hand into hers.

“The one who hit you died on impact caused you to have a broken leg, a shattered elbow, bruising in the spine and ribs, cracking one of them. You also have quite a severe concussion and have had to get a few stitches from various lacerations on your arms and legs.”

The doctor takes a slow deep breath then continues.

“The impact of the accident knocked you into a coma for seventy two hours.”

“Seventy two hours?”, you ask as your jaw drops to the floor.

“We weren’t sure if you were going to make it.” Your wife and youngest daughter chimed in.

“But, how did I get here?”

“I’m not entirely sure. A fellow pedestrian that was in town called 911 and got you here. We never got his name or information though. Come to think of it… no one saw his face.”

The doctor’s gaze grows more and more puzzled by the minute.

“What happened to the person who died from hitting me? Did they ever find his body?”

“Unfortunately not sweetie. They are still looking for it.” Your wife kisses your hand and continues to hold it within hers.

“Wait, then how do they know that he is dead if they can’t find his body?”

Everyone in the room stood frozen in time until someone chimes in: “They found his head sitting right at the edge of the right front wheel of the car, or what was left of it.”

“I will say this everyone. Every single time I went to work, I would always see this man in a black hoodie and dark jogging pants, er sometimes jeans run alongside the road. I watched him do this for almost twenty years. I could never see his face, nor could I ever figure out who or what he was. He was on the same road I went on every single time. Even on days where I took a different route, he would be on that road alongside me. I never really seemed to pay attention to it until recently. I used to have a lot of dreams where I’d see this hooded figure with nearly transparent, bat like wings and no face. It scared me to death every time I had this dream. Now I think I know who he was… or better yet, what he was.”

Hospital Stay

Motorcycle Details

How could I have been so stupid?

Oblivious to the world around me.

Never paying attention to my own safety.

Everything turned into an unbearable reality when mom died.

Yet… my dad and brother managed to carry on.

Well, I did not.

Everything I did got me into trouble.

Agitated over the littlest things, especially if I didn’t get my way

Reality set in as soon as I got pregnant at 16 years of age.

Everything turned around as soon as I had my precious daughter.

I was blessed with her and her dear father.

Now I wish that I wouldn’t have done what I did.

Having an axe at home for cutting firewood was a bad idea honey…

Everything was lost as soon as I was diagnosed with an STD.

Loved to do drugs, messed around with other men… I just couldn’t help it.

Let me make it up to you, please.

For one thing I never got better when mom died from that damned disease.

Ominous visions and voices of death kept filling my mind and ears.

Resting is for the weak.

Everything changed when I came down with that very same disease.

Very much terminal the doctor had said to me.

Everything started to come together when I gave in to the voices.

Reality set in that the hospital is my true home now.

Let us clean and clear you of your filthy and untamed nature; you cannot get away now.

Wooded Path: Convincing Yourself that This is Just a Bad Dream: Dead End

Blocking out seems to be the best option at this point, right?

Well, the longer you close your eyes, the heavier your stomach, back, and neck feels to your body.

It’s like as if weights of lead have been placed upon your spine as the world becomes painted with blackness.

Suddenly, a spark of light comes from the blackness.

The light appears as a black rose levitating in mid air, slowly burning away from the flame that engulfs the delicate petals.

A low hum starts to reverberate deep within your ears.

It quickly grows into a loud and sharp ringing that makes you feel as though your eardrums could shatter at any given time.

The once burning rose has now manifested into a pile of ash caked with dark glowing embers.

The ringing within your ears starts to turn into a low, guttural growling noise.

A sound that has never been laid upon your inner subconsciousness.

A pair of round glowing eyes appear right in front of your face.

It’s really hard to tell how close the eyes are to your own, but you feel that they could be between a few inches to a foot away from your face.

The eyes start to grow slightly brighter for a few moments and just as the eyes appeared, they were gone.

The life that was once within your grasp was ended as a pair of grimy fingers grab you by the ankles and swiftly pulls you within the burning embers from below.
